Born in Johannesburg, South Africa to an Egyptian mother and a Scotch-Irish father, Eleanor Scully began her creative path. Unbearably shy, Eleanor apprenticed with her dancer sister Jennifer, and together they grew up in a fantastic world of culture and contradictions. The family moved to up-state New York, followed by Minnesota, then on to North Carolina. In the Chapel Hill Proconian Newspaper Eleanor said “There were so many interesting characters in my family combined with changing circumstances…many rules to learn and break. I had to be a quick study”.

She acted and modeled through college while earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Directing at UNC-Greensboro. Having proficiency in dialects and travel, Eleanor also studied a semester abroad at Hull University, England, with a concentration in Shakespeare and Post-Modern Theatre. She had the honor of collaborating on the British stage in Cigarettes and Chocolate as Gemma, Blood Wedding as Mother-In-Law, and performing an original show with an ensemble cast at the Edinburgh Festival.

Eleanor then returned home to write, produce, and perform a one-person show entitled P.O.V. where she was able to combine her comedic skills and creative physical grace.

Her first job in NYC in 1999 was the poster-model for the still popular womens clothing line BARAMI. She soonafter became the fit-model for DKNY. Eleanor then began working with friend and mentor Andy Cadiff who was directing the successful TV sit-com Spin City at the time. She happily did small feature work alongside one of her all-time comedic influences Michael J. Fox. She alternately acted on Spin City while working as the on-camera reporter for the Internet TV show New York's Latest.

Off-Broadway theatre credits include Disco Girl in The Donkey Show. Further off-Broadway; Ophelia in Hamlet, Celimine in The Philanderer, Cleopatra in All For Love, and Alice in Closer.

Eleanor is grateful for her work for 3 seasons as the full-time Stand In for Mariska Hargitay on Law and Order SVU under the tutelage of directors David Platt, Peter Leto, Arthur Fornay and Director of Photography George Patteson. She is equally humbled and grateful for her time with the skillful and hilarious Mariska Hargitay and Chris Meloni.

Currently slated to play FBI Agent Nina, the female lead in the action adventure feature film “Destination Unknown” and it’s sequal “Destination Lost”.

Also in the works: “The Invisible People”, a television documentary series on the homeless in America where Ms. Scully will be the host.
